Never Lose Your Sense of Wonder, Your Innocence

Among many complimentary and complex feelings and sentiments, sex is supposed to (also) be fun. For me, so is writing, especially writing about sex and the sensual- fantasy, fantasy based on nuggets of truth, actual truth disguised as fantasy- and yes, even the whimsical.
This means that sometimes I let the whimsical part of my brain loose, as in this story, this story, and this story, plus some other pieces scattered throughout. I don’t receive many public comments, but I do receive private comments via response to my subscription emails or my Contact Me links.
The fun, adolescent side of my mind apparently causes a few people dismay. This made me think for about five seconds, until I remembered my own advice.
I have a friend with multiple huge social media followings, a public educator in the realm of space and the universe. I truly admire her passion in sharing the secrets of the universe with the public, an approach led by her sincere still-childlike wonder of all things space… an honesty in appreciation which I think is key to her success in having many tens of thousands of engaged followers.
Due to mutual friends, I always knew I would eventually meet her, and I always had in mind one of the first things I wanted to say to her. Basically…
“You approach the universe with a true sense of amazement and innocent wonder, and it shows. Never lose that.”
I think one could say much the same about the sensual. The wonders of exploration, of experimenting, of daring. Of having fun while doing so. Of never ceasing to be amazed by the unexpected, the coincidences, the funny moments, the things that you could never make up, and those moments where truth is stranger (or more fun) than fiction.
May your journeys take you far, to places you would never expect. And yes, to places where your adolescent mind would be tickled.
